CDL-A Driver
To make local deliveries to Residential and Commercial Customers and material deliveries to job sites. Deliveries consist of glass, doors and architectural aluminum frames and other building materials. This position would be Flower City Glass’s representative to our Customers. This position would be the liaison between our field workers and the main office. Total professionalism must be displayed regarding attitude, appearance and customer service. All of this would be performed adhering to highest of safety regulations and quality of workmanship.

Responsibilities:
  • Loading of all materials whether it is being delivered to Residential, Commercial or Contact
  • Optimizing route for the quickest geographic delivery
  • Unloading of material trucks, dating and signing Bill of Lading or Packers
  • Furnishing Customer with receipt for materials delivered, collecting cash if need be.
  • Daily relocating of existing material for new incoming freight
  • Daily reading of work orders and filling work orders.
  • Driving a forklift
  • Securing glass and frames for transportation
  • To handle Customer Service issues in the field up to one’s authority or ability
  • Unloading of manufacturer glass deliveries
  • Transporting Heavy lift equipment with trailer
  • Routine and overall maintenance of Flat Glass Fleet
  • Weekly delivery of material to Syracuse shop and contract jobs

Requirements:
  • Clean drivers license
  • Forklift training
  • 10 hour OSHA class
  • Ability to read, interpret, comprehend work orders
  • Ability to read a map
  • Good sense of direction
  • Ability to work alone
  • Ability to lift 100 pounds
  • Know one’s own limitation
  • Use of Suction Cups for Glass handling
  • Some over the head lifting and extension
  • CDL-A with air brakes
